The Dragon Ball saga is titanic, but there are times where it has shone with greater splendor. The first series was epic.

Akira Toriyama created Dragon Ball (ド ラ ゴ ン ボ ー ル) in 1984 for Jopnesa Shonen jump. In principle this series was going to be a reinterpretation of travel to the west (西遊記;) and Goku was going to be a kind of Monkey King. Toriyama's characters developed little by little away from the plot devised in principle, not without leaving us with a good wink count towards the classical Chinese legend.
Most of us know the dragon of the first adventures as Shenron although his name would be Shen Long (神龍) which means Dragon God or Divine Dragon.
Our fantastic friend was created by Kami and animated from a statue molded in the neighborhood by Mr. Popo. It has deer horns, sharp fangs, snake skin lacks wings and its tail measures 3/4 of its total length.
