Princess Mononoke is one of the jewels of Japanese animation. Written and directed by Hayao Miyazaki, released in 1997 and produced by the legendary studio Ghibli.
The story is set in the Japanese Muromachi period what you may not know is that Mononoke is not a name, actually Mononoke translates an avenging spirit, so the name of the film would come to translate something like The Princess of the Avenging Spirits. This movie is a milestone for all those who love anime as a medium, it is not by chance that this film is one of the highest grossing in the history of Japan.
